This and That - Primers

I previously used Revlon's Photoready Perfecting Primer( pic on the left hand side ). It was pretty good, especially for the price. It made my face feel smoother after the application but there was no dramatic changes. It did control oil but not for a long time.

27ml / MYR 50 ±
I got this from Watsons.

Since I've almost finished using it, I decided to get Make Up For Ever's All Mat Face Matifying Primer from Sephora.
MYR 160 / 30 ml / Made in France

The effect was the same as Revlon's. It made my face feel smoother after application. This product does control oil but to achieve that, it has to be applied on properly and by using the correct amount.
Bear in mind that the results made vary depending on individuals as this primer is silicon based although it's oil-free.

Of the two primer's I've tried, I like Make Up For Ever's Primer because of the overall results it gives.

Goodies from The Body Shop

I went in to The Body Shop today just to pick up one thing but ended up getting something for my sister since it's her birthday next month and other things as they were at offer prices.

Brow & Lash Gel

This is what I went in to get.
Price: MYR 35.00
Content Quantity: 10 ml / 0.33 US fl. oz.
Made in UK.
I usually use this as a primer before I put mascara on. I find it separates lashes and makes mascara application more smooth.
You can use this as a brow gel as well.

Lip Gloss

I got this in a gift set.
It came with another lip item.
I threw out all my old lip gloss so I thought why not.
Both lip items cost me MYR 50.00
This lipgloss alone costs MYR 39.00 for a 12 ml tube.
It's strawberry scented. It's not too sticky which is something I really like.
I find this a little pricey seeing as how it's made in Thailand.

Wild Rose Hand Cream SPF 15

I got this from a gift pack as well. They who pack cost me MYR 55.00.
The smell is really good and you can never have enough of hand moisturizer is you work long hours in an air-conditioned office.
Out of the gift pack, I took Wild Rose.
No parabens in this.

Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash

I got this for free.
This would usually cost MYR 28.00 for 60 ml.
This is for Oily/Combination Skin. I've tried the scrub from this line and it's pretty good.

Scan to Win

You will receive a card with a QR code to scan. It will lead you to a site to answer a quick survey. The prize is gift vouchers worth MYR 500 but it's for just 5 winners. Before you ask, of course I did the survey.
The contest ends on the 28th February 2013.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Sharing...

Just wanted to share a few things with you before I procrastinate and forget all about this.

Christmas & New Year Looks...

I'm not a make up artist but I think I did pretty ok.
The picture on the left hand side is what I did for Christmas. Slightly lined eyes and a glossy pinkish lip.
On the left hand side, I went for dark smokey eyes and a nude glossy lip.
I worked more on the highlighting and contouring on both pictures.

Bling Bling...

I got these a while ago and love them. I don't usually get accessories as I'm allergic to anything that's not made of pure metal. Good thing these are stainless steel.

Nails...

This is what I did last night. It was my first time using nail stickers / foil. I thought it was going to be a ton of work but suprisingly it wasn't. It didn't take long, you can get these at a reasonable price and it lasts for around 10 days.

Crabtree + Evelyn Ultra Moisturising Hand Therapy

I couldn't resist getting this hand cream because of the smell.

It's quite light which means it absorbs into the skin quite quickly.
I got this from a friend for MYR 40. I think the usual retail price is MYR 50.00. For the amount you're getting ( 100 g ), this is definitely a good buy.
There are more options to choose from like Rose, Lavendar, etc.
The packaging is practical and cute.

Quick Question

It's important to keep your tools clean and in good condition.

How often do you wash your make up tools? When do you throw them out?
What about your loofah?

We tend to not pay too much attention to little details. Do you wait until it's worn out to the maximum before throwing your tools out? It's not just the make-up that may need throwing out.
You use your tools on a daily basis which means a lot of bacteria gets accumulated on them.

QVS 2 Foundation Sponges, MYR 12.00
The Body Shop's Bath Lily, MYR 15.90

When in doubt, THROW OUT!
