Pink Nails!

Pink nails are fun!
I just finished doing my nails for this week. It's bubble gum pink!

I got this colour quite some time back when I was so into pink nails. It's called Miko from Korea. It was at a good price, 15 ml for around MYR 15.00.

What I like about this nail polish is the thick consistency which when put on your nails, it smoothens itself to looking like it is in the picture. Also, no top coat necessary. The consistency did not change although I did not use this for a long time so I would say it's a pretty good buy.

The finished look - glossy and awesome!

What do you think?

Lippies Mania

I went a bit crazy on lippies this October. I got myself 5 lippies! I posted pictures too to show you what they would look like on tanned skin tones.

1. mik@vonk - pk122, Hot Pink
2. The Body Shop - 06
3. Maybeline - 630, Rubylicious
4. Bobbi Brown - 33, Uber Nude
5. Anna Andre - 04
6. Clinique - 08 graped-up

1. mik@vonk

From Shins
Made in Korea
I don't remember exactly how much it cost but it was at a very reasonable price.
The texture is really amazing. It's creamy and smooth. Bear in mind that for darker skin tones, the colour turns out to look more fuschia than hot pink. A lipliner is a must if you want the colour to turn out hot pink instead of fuschia. Lipgloss is optional.

2. The Body Shop - 06

Lipsticks at The Body Shop are always at a reasonable price. This one I got cost MYR 45.00. The colour is pretty similar to Bobbi Brown's lipstick. I would use a lipliner prior to using this to make the colour pop more. This lippie is a little on the dry side so you might want to use some lip gloss or balm once you put it on.

3. Maybeline - 630, Rubylicious

I got this one from Watsons. It was MYR 40.00. I love the colour. It would suit tanned skin tones very well. The texture and pigmentation is incredible. It slides on so well even without using any foundation / concealor / lipliner prior to application. No lipgloss needed! Remember that the colour is not red, its true Ruby. It's packaged in such a way with the idea of "Jewels" in mind. A very clever thing to do indeed.

4. Bobbi Brown - 33, Uber Nude

♥ MYR 85.00
This has to be my favourite lippie of the lot! It's a new colour just in. The moisturizing effect it has on your lips is pretty good. Lipgloss is optional. To pop the nude colour more, it's best to team this lippie with a nude lipliner. The packaging is simple, sexy and sleek.

Bobbi Brown registers the products you buy from them in their system so you can always go to them to see if they have your favourite item in stock or even to help you re-call whatever product which you don't remember the name / code. This is definitely a good concept seeing as how ( I don't know about you guys but ) I tend to carry the products which I'm running low on around or writing it down. They definitely do keep their customers in mind! I will definitely be going back to get this colour once I've run out.

5. Anna Andre - 04

I got this lippie as a gift from India. I wasn't too taken with it at first since I've never heard of it before but when I tried it on, it was a whole different story. It's highliy pigmented and very moisturizing. The colour of it is also very unique.  It's sort of a mixture between red, pale pink and a hint of peach. It may not last very long on your lips but it will defintiely be fun to re-apply this over and over.
This lippie may not be under the high end brands but it comes to show that great lippies can be bought from the not so high end brands!

6. Clinique - 08 graped-up

♥   MYR 60.00
I got this from Sephora when I went there with my friend about a week or so ago. ( She's probably reading this ). It's not highly pigmented and I don't find it that moisturizing. For the pay you pay, you get quite a bit out of this product so it's quite worth it although it seems a but pricey. The packaging looks like a pen but twists like a lipstick. It's a pretty nice colour to wear for those with either pale or tanned skin. I doubt I will be buying this again.

Which one if your favourite?

Shins Bag + Barbara Hofmann

Shins is giving out a cute tote bag if you purchase anything from their store above MYR 150.00. I got mine today since I have to pick up my Youngblood liquid foundation. I like how they are putting the breast cancer awareness month out there.

I also got myself a eyebrow / eyelash comb from Barbara Hofmann. It's made of Nylon and I like how it's packed. It'll be easy to store it away. It cost me MYR 10.00.

Go get yours today while it lasts!

The Body Shop vs. Sephora

I went to The Body Shop yesterday since I wanted to pick a few things up because it was The Body Shop Member's Day and also because I had my birthday a few days ago. I got what I wanted and left happily.
I went to Sephora with a friend of mine today, taking along an email I received from Sephora stating that I can redeem one/two Sugar mini lip balms since it's my birthday. At the check-out, I was told that this gift is not available in Malaysia and Singapore.

What I was wondering is, then why did I get the email in the first place? If the Sephora in US is offering me a gift to redeem for my birthday, why does the Sephora in Malaysia not do it? Finding out if I can redeem the gift took about 5-10 minutes.
I know for a fact that this would not have happened in The Body Shop. They have superb service. I'm not saying Sephora is a complete let down but I won't deny the fact that I am quite dissapointed. Even more so when I signed up as a member,  and they did not get my name right in the system and when I try to change it now, it won't let me! I won't stop going to Sephora but I don't think I will be too bothered about using the Sephora member's card or asking for any assistance in the future.

Sephora has pretty amazing stuff but they should up their standards and value their customers more.

*Please note that I am only stating about the Policies and Procedures when it comes to customers.
